June isn’t usually the month that seasons finish in, but Liverpool’s path to the Champions League final this Saturday hasn’t been usual either.

The Reds are only the fouth team this millennium – after Valencia, Manchester United and Real Madrid – to reach back-to-back finals in the competition. It’s an incredible achievement in an era of big-money European heavyweights.

As we look forward to the weekend, we also look back on how Jurgen Klopp and his men managed to get to this stage in the first place.
