RedsBet caught up with former Liverpool player Jason McAteer so gather his thoughts on Wednesday’s crunch UEFA Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona.

McAteer, who made over 100 appearances for the club between 1995 & 1999, is in confident mood ahead of the trip to the Nou Camp and believes Jurgen Klopp’s men have every right to believe they can progress to the final in Madrid.

Liverpool to win but Lionel Messi to score

The former Republic of Ireland international said: “Barcelona don’t change the way they play for anyone, they don’t worry about the other team.

“I don’t see Barcelona changing for Liverpool and if you give Liverpool space they can exploit it.

“You’ve seen Liverpool at their devastating best against teams that are quite open so I think it could play a big part in the result.

“If Barcelona want to get a result they might have to change but I don’t know whether they will.”
